The local temperature rise around plasmonic gold–silica core–shell nanoparticles (NPs) was probed using the temperature-dependent behavior of the polymer poly[(hexamethylene diisocyanate)-<em>alt</em>-(triethylene glycol; <em>N</em>,<em>N</em>’-di-<em>tert</em>-butylethylenediamine)] (PHTD). Further details, including experimental methods, can be found in the accompanying publication. This dataset contains the data analyzing the nanoparticles and PHTD individually, as well as time-resolved spectroscopy of the nanoparticles embedded in PHTD.<br>All data are given as comma-separated values (CSV), with the first line describing the quantity and unit of each column.<br><strong>Mid-infrared transient absorption spectroscopy</strong>Absorbance change spectra near the C=O stretch vibration of PHTD.
