Arpa Piemonte — Mosaico images Sentinel 2 — Spring 2022

The image is a multi-temporal mosaic produced from the collection of images acquired by the pair of satellites Sentinel 2A-2B of the European Copernicus program during spring 2022 on Piedmont. For each of the visible bands from the multitemporal stack (B4 Red, B3 Green, B2 Blue) the median reflectance value of each pixel was calculated to compose an image in real colors of seasonal synthesis. Before joining the stack, the individual images were suitably masked to eliminate cloud cover.The mosaic was realised by Arpa Piemonte as part of the activities related to the 2022 national soil consumption monitoring project conducted by the National System for Environmental Protection (SNPA) through the coordination of ISPRA and the involvement of several regional agencies. The project aims to monitor the transformations of the territory due to urban, infrastructural, commercial, etc., with the consequent loss of natural, agricultural and semi-natural soil, understood as an essential and fundamentally non-renewable environmental resource.本数据集对应的影像为多时相镶嵌图，由欧洲哥白尼计划（European Copernicus program）的哨兵2A-2B（Sentinel 2A-2B）双星于2022年春季在皮埃蒙特（Piedmont）地区采集的影像集合合成而来。针对该多时相影像堆叠中的可见波段（B4红波段、B3绿波段、B2蓝波段），研究人员计算了每个像素的中位反射率值，以此合成季节合成真彩色影像。在进行影像堆叠前，已对单幅原始影像开展适配性掩膜处理，以去除云覆盖带来的干扰。该镶嵌图由皮埃蒙特环境保护局（Arpa Piemonte）制作完成，属于2022年国家土壤消耗监测项目的相关工作成果之一；该项目由国家环境保护系统（National System for Environmental Protection, SNPA）牵头实施，由意大利高等环境保护与研究研究院（ISPRA）协调，并由多家区域机构共同参与。本项目旨在监测因城市建设、基础设施开发、商业活动等引发的地表转型，以及由此导致的自然、农业及半自然土壤流失；这类土壤被视作至关重要且本质上不可再生的环境资源。
