Hydrometric stations

The hydrometric network allows to monitor, with regularity and continuity, the level of the water rod in various sections of the main waterways flowing in the regional territory. The monitoring activity, started by the then Hydrographic Office of the Magistrate at the Waters of Venice in the early years of the twentieth century on a few more important rivers, has been progressively expanded by the Regional Administration, both to monitor flood events and predict possible emergencies, and to continuously evaluate water outflow for exploitation. There are currently more than 110 active hydrometers in the network and further installation of new measuring stations is also expected in the short term.
