Hydrometric stations

The hydrometric network allows to monitor, with regularity and continuity, the level of the water rod in various sections of the main waterways flowing in the regional territory. The monitoring activity, started by the then Hydrographic Office of the Magistrate at the Waters of Venice in the early years of the twentieth century on a few more important rivers, has been progressively expanded by the Regional Administration, both to monitor flood events and predict possible emergencies, and to continuously evaluate water outflow for exploitation. There are currently more than 110 active hydrometers in the network and further installation of new measuring stations is also expected in the short term. The network is almost totally shared with the Regional Civil Protection本水文监测网（hydrometric network）可定期、持续地对流经本区域境内的各主要河道不同断面的水尺（water rod）水位开展监测。该项监测工作最早于20世纪初由当时的威尼斯水域行政长官公署水文局启动，最初仅覆盖少数重点河道；后由地区行政部门逐步拓展覆盖范围，其功能涵盖两方面：一是监测洪涝事件、预判潜在应急险情，二是持续评估河道径流量以支撑水资源开发利用。目前该监测网内共有110余台在用水文测站（hydrometers），且短期内计划新增安装更多监测站点。该监测网几乎完全与地区民防部门（Regional Civil Protection）共享。
