Digital Archive from Archaeological Monitoring and Recording at 45 Castle Road, Colchester, Essex, April - May 2024

This collection contains text documents, images, vector graphics (CAD), and site records from archaeological monitoring and recording undertaken by Colchester Archaeological Trust at 45 Castle Road, Colchester, Essex, between 25 April and 2 May 2024. The work was carried out in accordance with the archaeological brief and written scheme of investigation (WSI). Monitoring took place during groundworks for the construction of a single-storey rear extension. The site lies within the north-east corner of the Roman walled town. Two post-Roman layers were recorded, both producing a substantial quantity of Roman pottery and ceramic building material.
