The statistics Museums provides information about companies and institutions in The Netherlands showing the material testimonies of man and his environment acquire and present. It is not just companies and institutions whose operating a museum is the main activity, but also museums that ancillary activity forming a business or institution, (e.g. part of a municipality, a university or a hospital). This table provides figures on: — the number of museums; — the percentage of museums accepting the museum card; — the percentage distribution of museums by legal form (public institution, foundation/association and other); — the level of automation of the museums (whether or not computers, access to the Internet) and the way in which museums are located on the Internet presenting (whether or not detailed information via your own website or use of third party websites). The data are broken down by region (country and province) and classification of the museums into size classes (based on the number of visitors) per year). Data available from 2001 to 2009.
