Trueperella pyogenes is an opportunistic pathogen causing suppurative infections in a wide range of animal species. However, information regarding its tissue distribution during infection remains limited in a mouse model. Therefore, this study aimed to evaluate the distribution of T. pyogenes in infected tissues, host immune responses, the expression of the major virulence genes, and tissue lesions associated with infection. Forty mice were divided into control and infected groups. The infected mice were intraperitoneally administered with a T. pyogenes isolate obtained from a calf with diphtheria and monitored for 14 days post-infection.
