Bursaphelenchus xylophilus is the causative agent of the pine wilt disease and has caused devastating damage to pine forests in East Asia and West Europe. A 75 Mbp B. xylophilus draft genome was previously produced using 454 and Illumina technologies with 5527 scaffolds and an N50 value of 950 kb. This project produces a nearly complete genome sequence using Nanopore long-read sequencing and HiC scaffolding.
