Dataset on cave behaviour

The dataset contains information on four types of behaviour in subterranean species: explorative, anti-predator, foraging and social behaviour. Information were retrieved from both scientific and grey literature. <br> The dataset is a csv table organized as following: <br> ID: the species record ID <br> Family: The species’ family <br> Genus: The species’ genus <br> Species: The species’ name <br> Biogeographic_area: indicates the biogeographic area in which the species is located <br> Classification: (Stygo-)Troglobite (tb), (Stygo-)Troglophile (tp), (Stygo-)Trogloxene (tx) <br> Domain: indicate wheter the species is terrestrial or aquatic <br> Exploration: indicates high (1) or low (0) explorative movement <br> Diet: indicates the number of different food typologies (taxonomic order level) listed in the paper. If one or more prey were recognized at higher taxonomic level (class) we considered as belonging to only one typology <br> Predator_avoidance: indicates normal (1) or reduced/absent (0) anti-predator behaviour <br> Type_of_interaction: indicates positive/neutral (1) or negative (0) intraspecific interaction <br> Year_reference: The year of study’s publication <br> Full_reference: The full reference of the study
