North Sea Forage Fish Distributions

Modelled fine-scale spatio-temporal biomass of sandeel (Ammodytes marinus) and sprat (Sprattus sprattus) on a ~10km grid across the North Sea from 2000-2020 using hierarchical Bayesian spatio-temporal models fitted with R-INLA. The sandeel dataset was created by joining the Q3 North Sea International Bottom Trawl Survey (IBTS), Q3 North Sea Beam Trawl Survey (BTS), Q1 North Sea IBTS and the North Sea Sandeel Dredge Survey (NSSS). The sprat dataset was created by joining the Q3 North Sea IBTS and the Herring Acoustic Survey (HERAS).
