VPRS 10298 Subject Files

The Teachers and Schools Registration Board (VA 2309) and the Council for Public Education (VA 2310) were responsible for the registration of non-Government schools and their teachers. The Council was also responsible for advising the Minister on educational developments which it might be desirable to introduce into Victorian schools.These files, organised by subject, reflect these concerns and functions of the Board and the Council. Files contain correspondence on the subject matter, cuttings from newspapers and magazines and notes regarding interviews or correspondence on the matter. This series is presumed to be the remains of a more comprehensive range of subject files.
