Trianon Corpus: a thematically selected and curated source edition of archived online news articles

This digital object is a curated source edition comprising thematically selected and prepared articles from the archived materials of online news sources. It focuses on the Treaty of Trianon (4 June 1920), a major turning point in Hungarian history, and includes articles published between 1996 and 2022. Through its thematic focus, chronological scope, and source type, the corpus is particularly well suited to the study of digital press representations of Hungarian public discourse on Trianon and of interpretations related to historical memory. The base corpus from which the selection was made was created as part of the ELTE DH web harvesting project of the Department of Digital Humanities of Eötvös Loránd University. The archiving workflow is designed to prevent modification or manipulation of the downloaded content. The first version of this selected source publication was created using the following (table below) datasets. Within the dataset, which can be downloaded in compressed form, the TEI XML files are located in a clear folder structure, broken down by news portal and then by publication date.
