Biogeographical survey of the soil microbiome across sub-Saharan Africa

This project represents the most extensive survey of the microbial biodiversity in soils from sub-Saharan Africa. The main aim of the project was to catalogue the microbial ecology of surface soil across ten countries in the region. In addition, the project investigated the environmental drivers of microbial community diversity and structure, as well as explored the possible impact of climate change to the biodiversity in the region.
