Microbial diversity in microbiologically influenced corrosion MB study

This dataset contains raw 16S rRNA gene sequence reads obtained from samples collected during the MB experiment. The study investigates microbial community composition and dynamics associated with biofilm-mediated microbiologically influenced corrosion (MIC) in industrial environments. Environmental DNA was extracted from biofilms and corrosion products, followed by amplification of the V3-V4 region of the 16S rRNA gene for both bacteria and archaea. DNA extractions and sequencing was performed on an Illumina platform, by Eurofins, generating paired-end reads. These data provide insights into the diversity and structure of microbial communities contributing to MIC and their potential roles in corrosion processes.
