The purpose of the experiment was to determine the effect of the addition of monensin on IFNg mRNA and protein expression in PMA/Ionomycin stimulated PBMCs.
Conclusion:
When monensin is included, there is a mRNA+/protein- population observed after 5 hour stimulation. This population is not observed when monensin is omitted.
