Effect of monensin on IFNg mRNA and Protein expression

The purpose of the experiment was to determine the effect of the addition of monensin on IFNg mRNA and protein expression in PMA/Ionomycin stimulated PBMCs. Conclusion: When monensin is included, there is a mRNA+/protein- population observed after 5 hour stimulation. This population is not observed when monensin is omitted.
