Non-profit institutions: number of local units of non-profit institutions and staff by legal form and section of activity

The dataset contains information on the local units of non-profit institutions recorded with the Census of Industry and Services 2011. Non-profit institutions are legal-economic units with or without legal personality, whether of a private nature, producing market or non-market goods and services and which, under applicable laws or statutory rules, are not entitled to distribute, even indirectly, profits or other earnings other than remuneration for the work performed to the persons who established it or to members. The variables recorded concern the number of local units of the institutions and staff (employees, external workers, temporary and voluntary workers) by legal form, sector and sub-sector of activity (INCPO). In particular, employees of active non-profit institutions and external employees are defined as employees and other non-standard workers.
