Hematologic parameters of S. Typhimurium-infected mice.

Twenty-one mice were orally gavaged with 2.0×109 CFU of S. Typhimurium (I) and 13 mice with sterile PBS as mock-infected controls (C). No hematological data were obtained from one early death mouse. Complete blood counts (CBC) and serum iron were measured at weeks 1, 3, 6, and 10 post-infection.
