Bed Bug Microbiome

The goal of this study was to characterize the microbiome of a deceased laboratory bed bug colony that had died off unexpectedly. We wanted to compare deceased bed bug microbiome samples to those of healthy bed bugs to determine if there was an in-flux of a specific bacterial genus that was causing bed bug mortality.
