# Code and Data for Analyzing Reservoir Drought in the Western U.S. Using the Normalized Reservoir Drought Index (NRDI) This repository contains the data and code necessary to analyze reservoir drought conditions in the Western United States. It supports the modeling and estimation of reservoir water demand, as well as the calculation of NRDI and associated event metrics, using both instrumental and paleo-reconstructed data. --- ## 📂 Contents The repository includes the following components: - `NRDI_analysis.R` — Main R script for conducting the reservoir drought analysis using NRDI.- `subroutines.R` — Supporting functions, including the modified Sequent Peak Algorithm for NRDI computation.- `all_data.csv` — Daily inflow, outflow, and storage data for ten major reservoirs in the Western U.S. during the instrumental period.- `all_paleo_data.csv` — Monthly paleo-reconstructed inflow data for the same reservoirs.- `save_result.zip` — Output folder containing results for water supply, demand, NRDI, drought event metrics, cumulative deficits, and spill volumes.
