资源简介:
The metal wings of aircraft and the feathered wings of nature often compete for the same airspace. At times, this leads to collisions and may result in damage to aircraft and sometimes injuries or even death to passengers, crew, and wildlife too. Wildlife strikes are the consequence of various factors. These factors include migration of species, weather, time-of-day, phase of flight and the region of the flight’s route. However, some of the questions remain to be addressed with solid observational data. For example, how exactly are various factors related and to what extent do they impact wildlife strikes on airplanes? In this study, we focus on the aforementioned factors and try to ascertain levels of contribution for each factor. The aim of this study is to provide in-depth analysis of dataset includes visualization through various types of graphs which have been used to demonstrate a concise overview of the bird strike problem in commercial aviation and also the factors contributing to the occurrence and the potential consequences in terms of effect on the flight and damage. Conclusions and recommendations are drawn based on the results in order to decrease the number of bird strikes.
