National interest in nature conservation and outdoor life – viewing service (WMS)

Download service for the data sets: National interest outdoor life and national interest nature conservation Areas of national interest for nature conservation shall represent the main features of Swedish nature, highlight the development of the landscape and show the diversity of nature from a national perspective. The selection of areas of national interest for nature conservation is made by the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency in cooperation with, among others, the county administrative boards and municipalities. Areas of national interest for outdoor life should have great outdoor values due to special natural and cultural qualities, variations in the landscape and good accessibility for the public. The areas should also be or may become attractive to visitors from large parts of the country; maybe even from all over the country and from abroad. Many different Swedish landscape types should be represented in the selection. A guide with general advice is published by the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency in "Riksinterest for nature conservation and outdoor life.
