Characterization of muscle growth and sarcomere branching in the striated musculature of<i> C. elegans</i>

This is a dataset of JG images generated as snapshots of confocal micrographs obtained using a Leica SP8 confocal microscope at 63X magnification using the Lightning deconvolution mode. The images are of <i>C. elegans</i> nematodes body wall (striated) muscles. The animals were raised under different conditions in order to elicit different types of muscle growth. The impermeable cuticle of animals were then removed using the freeze-crack method and the f-actin in their muscles were stained following standard techniques. In this case we used green phalloidin. WGA was also used in some instances to stain muscle membranes. Worms were processed, mounted, and imaged the same afternoon during any one session.
