National Cohort Research Education with enrolments – and diploma data of students in Higher Vocational Education (from 01-09-2010)

National Cohort Research Education (NCO) The NCO microdata files were compiled by the Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS) for the National Cohort Research Education (NCO). The NCO has been initiated and is funded by the National Educational Research Agency (NRO). For these files, existing register data from the social-statistical files (SSB) of CBS and existing educational records of the Education Basic Register (BRON) of the Education Implementation Service (DUO) have been combined. This file contains the enrolment and diploma data of students in Higher Vocational Education. The year in the file name refers to the relevant academic year JYYY/YYYY+ 1. More information on how to access the data: > https://www.cbs.nl/nl-nl/onze-diensten/maatwerk-en-microdata/microdata-zelf-onderzoek-doen ### Methodology For the registrations, pre- and post-enrolments were also included and therefore not only the students who were enrolled in the HBO on 1 October. For the diploma, diploma & associate degree has been dedoubled on the basis of the (main) bachelor, master’s and associate degree, with the highest principal diploma going ahead. ### Population The files contain the data of pupils who have been in (special) primary or secondary education in previous years and thus appear in one of the backbone files. Because it concerns pupils who (indirectly) enter from (special) primary or secondary education, it is not possible to make an overview of all pupils in higher vocational education (HBO) based on these files.
