Natural areas of ecological, fauna and floristic interest – ZNIEFF – type 2

The Natural Areas of Ecological, Wildlife and Floristic Interest are set up by the National Inventory of Natural Heritage on behalf of the Museum of Natural History. It is not a legal instrument but rather a scientific knowledge tool to protect the environment. Forests, ponds and forest plots may be affected by this scheme. ZNIEFF type 2 are the large, rich and minimally modified natural ensembles, offering significant biological potentialities. This type of ZNIEFF covers territories that in fact represent imposing areas. These areas can also include one or more Type 1 areas within them and cover large ensembles such as mountain ranges, or landscapes. Some parts of the area may not have remarkable species or spaces but participate in a whole.生态、野生动物与植物区系重要自然区域（Natural Areas of Ecological, Wildlife and Floristic Interest）由代表自然历史博物馆的国家自然遗产名录（National Inventory of Natural Heritage）设立。 该体系并非法律文书，而是用于环境保护的科学认知工具。森林、池塘与林地块可能会受到该体系的影响。 ZNIEFF 2类区域（ZNIEFF type 2）指规模宏大、物种丰富且受人为扰动程度极低的自然复合体，具备显著的生物潜能。此类ZNIEFF覆盖的地域实为广袤连片区域，其内部可包含一处或多处1类区域，涵盖山脉连片区域或整体景观等大型自然复合体。区域内部分片区虽无突出的特色物种或空间，却仍是整体生态系统不可或缺的组成部分。
