Environics International Environmental Monitor, 2000

Environics International Environmental Monitors (EIEM) is a syndicated annual survey of global public opinion on a variety of environmental and natural resource issues. It is based on public opinion surveys carried out in 24+ countries around the world, and conducted since 1997. The findings of the 2000 Survey are based on the results of face-to face or telephone interviews with representative samples of about 1,000 citizens in each of 34 countries on all continents, and at varying stages of economic development. Environics 2000 International Environmental Monitor survey was conducted in the following countries: Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, Chile, China, Colombia, Cuba, Dominican Republic, France, Germany, Great Britain, Greece, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Kazakhstan, Mexico, Netherlands, Nigeria, Panama, Peru, Philippines, Poland, Russia, South Africa, South Korea, Spain, Thailand, Turkey, United States, Uruguay, Venezuela. Research was conducted by respected social research institutes in each country between April 4, 2000 and July 10, 2000. In Canada, the survey was conducted by Environics Research Group Ltd. It consisted of a nation-wide telephone survey with a sample of 1,510 individuals, 18 years and older carried out between April 17 and May 1, 2000.
