Lactose and fecal incubation experiment

To investigate the potential of lactose in facilitating the proliferation of L. intestinalis within the gastrointestinal tract of murine subjects, we collected fecal samples from mice and subsequently incubated anaerobically with either PBS or lactose for a duration of 24 hours, after which alterations in the bacterial community composition were assessed using 16S rRNA sequencing.
