A realistic mixture of Persistent Organic Pollutants affects zebrafish embryogenesis and behavior

A realistic mixture of Persistant Organic Pollutants (POPs), as found in the blood of a Scandinivian population, was used at realistic concentrations to evaluate developmental, behavioral, and gene expression modifications in zebrafish larvae. Zebrafish embryos were treated with an artificial mixture of POPs, designed using data from blood serum contaminations in a Scandinavian population, at 0, 75x, or 125x the concentration found in the blood serum.
