Qualitative Interview Dataset on Return (Im)Mobility among Ukrainians Displaced by the War (RMIDUR, 2025–2026)

This dataset contains qualitative interview documentation collected within the MSCA4Ukraine Fellowship Project RMIDUR (Return Migration: (Im)Mobility Decision of Ukrainian Refugees and Internally Displaced Persons). The project investigates return migration, return immobility, integration, temporal uncertainty, and transnational mobility among Ukrainians displaced by the war. The dataset is based on 30 semi-structured interviews conducted between December 2025 and March 2026 with Ukrainian refugees residing in European host countries (primarily Germany), internally displaced persons (IDPs), and returnees to Ukraine. Interviews were conducted in Ukrainian and Russian and analysed using abductive thematic analysis supported by MAXQDA 2022. To protect participants' confidentiality and comply with ethical and legal requirements, interview transcripts and audio recordings are not included in this repository. Instead, the repository provides documentation describing the dataset, including a dataset description, dataset metadata, interview guide, analytical codebook, and data availability statement. These materials support transparency, reproducibility, and future reuse of the research design while protecting sensitive qualitative data. The dataset is currently being analysed and will support future peer-reviewed publications within the RMIDUR project.
