These two complementary projects will help to restore the health of Moggill Creek, a tributary of the Brisbane River. The overall health of Moreton Bay Ramsar site relies on the capacity of urban waterways such as Moggill Creek to filter and mitigate pollution before it enters the Bay. Building resilience in urban waterways can also help mitigate climate change impacts by providing movement corridors and refugia during extreme weather events. This project will: 1) improve the resilience of the Moggill Creek riparian zone, 2) protect nationally significant wildlife and natural habitat, 3) enhance the wildlife corridor between D'Aguilar conservation estate and Moreton Bay, and 4) increase the capacity of the community to manage for conservation outcomes.
