Amplicon sequencing from Gorda Ridge Hydrothermal vent field. Samples were collected in May 2019, aboard the EV Nautilus with ROV Hercules. Vent fluid, plume, and surrounding deep seawater were collected via ROV or mounted Niskin bottle and collected into filters. Objectives were to characterize the microbial community in and around Gorda Ridge hydrothermal vent field, including both bacteria and microbial eukaryotes (16S rRNA and 18S rRNA tag sequencing).
