NIR Spectroscopy of Arctic Soil Samples (Abisko, Sweden)

Near-infrared reflectance can describe soil composition quickly and without consuming the sample. NIRsoil.mat contains spectra and reference measurements from 108 soil samples collected in a long-term climate-change experiment at Abisko, northern Sweden. soil.data has shape 108 x 1050 over 400-2498 nm at 2 nm intervals. soilref.data has shape 108 x 2 for soil organic matter and ergosterol per gram of dry soil. The samples represent 36 plots with three subsamples per plot: 72 samples from the 0-5 cm horizon and 36 from the 5-10 cm horizon.
