Domoic acid concentration in king scallops associated with individual body size

Biometric measurements of Pecten maximus (king scallops), alongside quantification of domoic acid in total tissue, were taken during two monitoring periods. 
The first monitoring, conducted in 2021, involved sampling contaminated king scallops following a toxic Pseudo-nitzschia australis bloom in the Bay of Brest (Finistère, France). Thirty individuals were analysed, and a further 38 were kept for a two-month depuration period in laboratory conditions. 
The second experiment involved sampling 244 king scallops in the two administrative zones in the Bay of Brest in January 2025, seven months after a toxic Pseudo-nitzschia australis bloom. The shells were also dried, and the age of each individual was determined based on the shell striae.
