Landslides, races and other land movements occurred (sliding database)

SGI is the state’s expert body in landslide, racial and beach erosion issues and contributes to reducing risks in the geotechnical field in society. The starting point for the business is that people should be able to live on a safe basis, so that life and property are not wasted in natural accidents such as landslides and races or in the event of beach erosion. SGI’s Screw Database is a compilation of the landslides, races and other earth movements in Sweden with the corresponding description of the type of event, scope, location, etc. – see SGI Varia 512. The number of items is 1564 (Aug 2023). Some larger landslides have a more detailed description (cause, course of events, experience feedback, etc.) in MSB’s natural accident database.
