Lab02 Dataset 4

For this lab we collected data in York University on monday september 22 2014, this is the sample data sheet for excercise 4. For this data set Farnaz used transect to measure the circumference of trees and bahar recorded data. Other members of group helped to collect the data. We choose White oak species that were easily observable, and then we randomly chose adult whiteoak trees for every sapling. Then measured the circumference and DBH (Diameter at Breast Height) of both sapling and adult trees. ALso, in addition we as a group of 4 measured the canopy coverage percentage.The canopy coverage was estimated for adult white oak trees in percentage; this was done by making a square with one's fingers, pointing them up and the estimate of the percentage of the cover provided by the canopy.The total population of trees were 10 pairs of spling and the adult white oak trees.

本实验的数据采集于2014年9月22日周一的约克大学（York University），此为实验4的示例数据集。本数据集由Farnaz采用样带法（transect）测量树木周长，Bahar负责数据记录，其余小组组员协助完成数据采集工作。我们选取了易于观测的白栎（White oak）物种，随后针对每株幼树随机选取对应的成年白栎植株，分别测量幼树与成年树的周长及胸径（DBH, Diameter at Breast Height）。此外，由4人组成的小组还测量了冠层覆盖率百分比：针对成年白栎树，我们以百分比形式估算其冠层覆盖率，具体操作为用手指围成正方形并向上举起，以此估算冠层的覆盖百分比。本次采样的树木总数为10组，每组包含1株幼树与1株成年白栎树。
