Within the framework of the National Accounts, CBS collects quarterly data on statutory social insurance. Social insurance is current transfers from government and employers to households with the aim of providing financial security against a number of risks (such as incapacity for work, unemployment, old age, illness) or to address certain needs (e.g. housing and education) provided. The characteristic of statutory social insurance is that they are government is established and controlled, mandatory for the entire population or a large part of it and paid for premium payments. This table contains part of the data collection from the financial administrations of statutory social insurance institutions: the Implementing body Workers’ Insurance (UWV), the Social Verzekeringsbank (SVB) and the College voor Zorgverzekeringen (CVZ). The concerns the distribution of contributions and benefits from the statutory social insurance by fund and by scheme. The amounts are displayed in terms of the European System of Accounts (ESR95). This means, in particular, that a transaction is allocated to the period to which the transaction relates (transaction basis), and not the period during which the transaction actually took place (cash base).
