Ground Truths: Understanding farmers' views on carbon farming and environmental markets

This research draws on a survey and in-depth interviews with farmers to document their understanding of and engagement with carbon farming and environmental markets. The NSW Government's Net Zero Plan recognises that agriculture is both an emission source and a climate solution. By scaling up carbon-storage practices – like well-managed grazing and pasture management and revegetation projects on sections of their land, farmers can contribute to climate action while building resilience, future-proofing their operations and exploring potential new income streams.

本研究通过对农户开展问卷调查与深度访谈，系统记录其对碳农业（carbon farming）与环境市场（environmental markets）的认知水平与参与实践。新南威尔士州政府的《净零计划》（Net Zero Plan）明确指出，农业既是温室气体排放源，亦是气候解决方案的重要组成部分。通过推广碳储存相关实践——例如对部分土地实施科学管护的放牧与牧场管理、开展植被恢复项目——农户不仅能够助力气候行动，还可提升自身经营的抗风险能力、为农业生产布局长期可持续发展规划，并探索潜在的新型收入来源。
