This communication proposes the design and fabrication ofa novel wideband millimeter-wave crossover using gap waveguide (GW)technology, aimed at low-loss and high-power applications in the Kaband. To address fabrication challenges at millimeter-wave frequencies,the GW technology is employed. An E-plane GW-based crossover isdesigned to o er broadband performance, high-return loss, acceptablecoupling flatness, and high isolation. To validate the performance ofthe proposed designs, a prototype of a crossover with input WR-28rectangular waveguides (RWs) is manufactured and tested. Measurementresults indicate that the fabricated crossover achieves return and insertionlosses better than 17.3 and 0.58 dB, respectively, and an isolation levelexceeding 26.7 dB within the 26.5–40-GHz frequency range. In addition,the proposed millimeter-wave structures exhibit a breakdown power levelin the kilowatt range, meeting the high-power requirements of antennafeed networks.
