The following information about the CD-ROM was abstracted from the
Bureau of Transportation Statistics Product catalog:
The National Transporation Atlas Databases: 1995 CD-ROM contains a
compilation of geographic data bases that provide the infrastructure
for national planning and policy initiatives for the U.S. Department
of Transportation. Regional information, by state, is available to
users as well as the entire national infrastructure. The data bases
consist of transportation networks, terminals, and other structures,
as well as background, boundary and point files. The initial
release of the NTA contains primarily geographic data with very
limited transportation attribute data. Explicit connections between
modes and terminals are not included on this version although the
intent is fot the NTA data bases to be expanded with tighter quality
control as time goes on.
