Vegetation shapes European alpine permafrost microbiome - processed data and metadata

This dataset contains processed data from a study investigating soil microbial community composition and greenhouse gas fluxes (CH₄ and CO₂) across 9 high-altitude alpine permafrost-affected sites in the Swiss Alps. The dataset includes:- Processed microbial community tables (e.g., OTU tables)- Sample metadata and environmental parameters- Derived functional and statistical analysis tables used in the manuscript The raw sequencing reads for metagenomes generated in this study are publicly available in ENA under the project accession PRJEB109934 (https://www.ebi.ac.uk/ena/browser/view/PRJEB109934) and for 16S rRNA gene amplicons under the project accession PRJEB111633 (https://www.ebi.ac.uk/ena/browser/view/PRJEB111633). All analysis scripts used to process the data and generate figures are available on GitHub: https://github.com/leeen31/European_high_altitude_soil_microbiome_study. This dataset is intended to support reproducibility of the analyses presented in the associated manuscript and to enable reuse in comparative studies of alpine soil microbial ecology.
