资源简介:
Background The genus Tintelnotia is a coelomycetous genus in the family Phaeosphaeriaceae within Pleosporales, characterised by producing their conidia inside of fruiting bodies called pycnidia. The coelomycetes comprise a wide range of fungal species distributed in nature mainly as saprobic or parasites of terrestrial plant debris, but can also be isolated from soil or aquatic environments, and only a few species are able to cause human infections. However, their identification in the clinical lab is often difficult, due to their few morphological features or because they remain sterile. Materials and MethodsIn the present study, three isolates of coelomycetes of clinical origin were morphological and molecularly studied by sequencing the D1-D2 fragment of the 28S nuclear ribosomal RNA (nrRNA) (LSU), the internal transcribed spacer region (ITS1-5.8S-ITS2), a fragment of the RNA polymerase II subunit 2 (rpb2), a fragment of the translation elongation factor 1-alpha gene (tef1) and a fragment of the beta-tubulin (tub2) genes. Results and ConclusionsAs result of the molecular analysis, the isolates were identified as belonging to the genus Tintelnotia, being the strain CNM-CM 7430 as T. destrunctans and the strains CNM-CM 7080 and CNM-CM 7981 as a potential new species. Therefore, we propose the latter strains as the new species Tintelnotia hispanica. Furthermore, new sequences of the novel species have been provided, and their antifungal pattern to the majority of drugs tested was susceptible. As conclusion this study provides a novel species of coelomycetous fungi isolated in a European country which could contribute to the future identification in the clinical settings and as the basis for future studies on this group of fungi.
