Draft genome sequence of a marine Streptomyces sp. AW19M42 isolated in Tysfjorden, Northern Norway. Streptomyces sp. AW19M42

Here, we report the 8 Mbp draft genome of the Streptomyces sp. AW19M42, isolated from sea squirt in Tysfjorden, Northern Norway. The genome encodes 7296 putative protein coding genes, and has a GC content of 70.57%. The genome encodes several gene clusters involved in polyketide and non-ribosomal peptide synthesis that are relevant for secondary metabolite production. Also, this isolate harbours genes coding for industrially applicable enzymes.
