Single-cell data of microfluidic experiments reported in the article Growth rate controls the sensitivity of gene regulatory circuits. The corresponding image dataset, together with raw export files from the image analysis software MoMA, is available at https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.6684959.  Two series of experiments of have been conducted, where bacterial growth and lac operon expression are monitored using phase contrast and epifluorescence microscopy (measuring a translational LacZ-GFP fusion): "Transient growth arrest": Escherichia coli cells are exposed to M9 minimal medium with glycerol, and then to media containing TMG inducer either with glycerol or with lactulose (data from 4 independent experiments). "Concentration-dependent glucose/lactose preference": Escherichia coli cells pre-grown in M9 minimal medium with 0.2% glucose are grown in mother machine microfluidic chips in one of the following conditions (data from 6 independent experiments with up to 8 conditions per experiments): lactose 0.02% with variable glucose concentration (2µM to 128µM) variable glucose concentration (2µM to 128µM) variable glucose concentration (2µM to 128µM) with 200µM IPTG. Each subdirectory corresponds to a given date and conditions as described below (also available in Julou_2022_GCS_series.csv).
