Survey of three soda lake Metagenome. hypersaline lake metagenome

We present a study of the microbial communities inhabiting a group of temperate soda lakes situated in Austria. These alkaline water bodies range from a pH of 9 to 11 and harbor drastically different bacteria and archaea when compared to neutral freshwater lakes. In particular, they are fast-growing and highly productive.
