Influence of water colour and predation risk on newt activity

The dataset contains results from a lab experiment on 53 smooth newts (Lissotriton vulgaris). Individuals originated from the Evo area in Southern Finland. The activity of males was recorded using videotracking for 22h in presence of absence of olfactory predator cues (from European perch Perca fluviatilis) and in three levels of water colour. Colour was stained by humic acid thus mimicking colour variation in natural freshwater environments. The file contains the data and the description of the recorded activity variables for each individual and each time period (30' each hour).
