Effect of blood feeding on midgut microflora of Aedes albopictus

The transmission of mosquito-borne diseases is closely related to the blood-sucking behavior of mosquitoes. In this study, adult female Aedes albopictus were selected to suck the blood of ICR (Institute of Cancer Research) mice, and 16S rRNA gene amplification and PacBio Sequel II sequencing were used to investigate changes in the mid-gut microbiota of mosquitoes before and after blood feeding.
