This study aims to describe and characterize a new species of gall-inducing insect associated with Peumus boldus in Chile's sclerophyllous forests. Given the economic and ecological importance of P. boldus, understanding its interactions with gall-inducing insects is crucial for biodiversity conservation and plant-insect relationship studies. Despite the global significance of gall-inducing insects in shaping plant morphology and ecosystem processes, their diversity remains poorly documented in Chile, particularly in sclerophyllous forests. Through morphological and molecular analyses, this research provides a comprehensive taxonomic assessment, highlighting the need for further exploration of gall-inducing insect fauna in these ecosystems.
