Microbial diversity of anodic biofilm in Microbial fuel cell inoculated with activated sludge

This study is intended to examine the effect of various anode elemental and morphological surfaces on biofilm formation of electrogenic bacteria from the mixed culture in single chambered microbial fuel cell (SMFC). Mixed culture obtained from activated sludge of municipal wastewater treatment plant (Naini, Prayagraj). Four different anodes used in this study are plain carbon cloth (CC), reduced graphene oxide (rGO)-CC, NiWO4-CC, and NiWO4/rGO-CC. This study adds knowledge on the correlation between anode elemental composition and microbial community of biofilm deposited on electrocatalyst modified anode based SMFCs.
