资源简介:
Mild traumatic brain injury (mTBI) accounts for over 80% of all traumatic brain injury cases and can lead to persisting neurological issues. One biological marker of interest in predicting mTBI recovery is brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) which supports neuron health. A genetic variation known as the Val66Met may impair BDNF secretion, potentially affecting recovery from mTBI. While this variation is linked to severe brain injuries, its role in mild injuries is less understood. This research aims to explore the influence of BDNF and the Val66Met on mTBI recovery, identifying individuals at greater risk for poor outcomes to improve treatment strategies.
