This dataset presents the Ecowatt signal history at the France perimeter since September 1, 2022. It is refreshed once a day, so the history available on day D contains the values up to day D-1. These are the latest Ecowatt signals published for the 24 hourly steps (H0 to H23) of each day. Each of the 24 steps of the day is associated with a value and a text message. The value can vary from 1 to 3. The meaning of the values is as follows: * **0: Green signal + Decarbonised production (*) – from 3 November 2023** * 1: Green signal. Associated message: No alerts. Normal consumption. * **2: Orange signal**. Associated message: The electrical system is tense. Eco-gestures are welcome. * **3: Red signal**. Associated message: The electrical system is very tense. Inevitable cuts if we do not lower our consumption. Let’s adopt all the eco-gestes. _(*) French electricity generation already emits very little CO2 all year round. By focusing on decarbonised hours to consume, French production can be closer to 0 emissions._ Each day is also associated with a color of the day, this corresponds to the highest value of the signal on all the hourly steps of that day. For example, it only takes an orange (or red) hourly pass for the color of the day to be orange (or red). All the information associated with the Ecowatt service is available on [www.monecowatt.fr], in particular real-time forecasts for days D to D+ 3. To recover data from the Ecowatt signal in real time, RTE makes available a public API on [Catalogue API – Data RTE API (rte-france.com)](https://data.rte-france.com/catalog/-/api/consumption/Ecowatt/v5.0). _Note: The Ecowatt scheme is exclusively national, since the balance between electricity production and consumption is national.
