Among nearly 2000 unidentified gamma-ray sources detected with the Fermi Gamma Ray Space Telescope, there are potentially many pulsars. The ultra-wide frequency coverage will enable us to detect MSPs with steep spectrum and avoid difficulties caused by interstellar scintillation and dispersive and scattering smearing. We propose to revisit highly ranked pulsar candidates that remain unidentified. Such a pilot survey will help us designing future searches of the coming 4FGL gamma-ray source catalog using the UWL. We select 11 targets and request 12 hour time in total.
在费米伽马射线空间望远镜(Fermi Gamma Ray Space Telescope)探测得到的近2000个未证认伽马射线源中,潜藏着大量潜在脉冲星。本次观测具备超宽频段覆盖能力,可探测谱形较陡的毫秒脉冲星(Millisecond Pulsar, MSP),同时规避由星际闪烁、色散展宽与散射展宽引发的观测难题。我们提议对尚未完成证认的高优先级脉冲星候选体开展回溯观测。此次先导巡天工作将为后续利用超宽频段(Ultra-Wide Frequency, UWL)开展对即将发布的4FGL伽马射线源目录(4FGL Gamma-Ray Source Catalog)的搜寻工作提供参考与指导。本次计划共筛选出11个观测目标,并申请了总计12小时的观测时长。
